Méthode Swing Privileges

Below the list of privileges that are supported in Méthode Swing.

Setting up

All privileges must be set inside a privileges.json file and all can be overwritten at different levels:

- at /SysConfig/ level: /SysConfig/privileges.json
- at group level: /Profiles/<Group>/Config/privileges.json
- at user level: /Profiles/<User>/Config/privileges.json

The file configured at the user level has preference, followed by the Group config and the SysConfig file.

Only the Méthode Swing privileges can be set in the privileges.json file.
The generic Méthode privileges are set via Méthode Prime or EMC

Swing privileges

A privilege grants a user the possibility to use/configure functions, actions or buttons in the Swing application.

NOTE: An example file privileges.json.RELEASE with the default values is released with the Swing package. You can find it in \swing\com.eidosmedia.swing.web-app\config folder.

Méthode EMC privileges

Privileges that correspond to some of the Méthode Privileges configured in the EMC.

These privileges will not be considered if the user has not configured a EOM::Privileges group

System EMC privileges

The Méthode System privileges is the only group of privileges effectively validated server-side, for this reason it is not possible to enable these only from Swing, but to apply them you need to enable the related option in EMC.

Therefore, the privileges listed in the following table are only intended to disable on Swing the related features that have been enabled by EMC.

General application EMC privileges

Differently to the System privileges, the General application privileges are just labels from the server’s point of view: for this reason it is possible to enable/disable the related functionality also if they are not set in the EMC.
So, the following privileges can be override with the related Swing privileges.

Object actions

These privileges manage the actions displayed in the Objects, Message and User previews and the actions listed by clicking on the three dots on the objects in the Candidate browser.

Cobalt

All the Cobalt privileges are ignored if the <cobaltEnabled> parameter is set to false inside the <global> tag in the swing.xml file server side.

Swing Live
